John Sharp 1965-2009

I was lucky enough to work with John over a few years. I first met him when he was producing and writing Blue Lines with Massive Attack at the Coach House when I was a tea boy: later I got to know him as a friend and a mentor.
The enormity of his influence and ideas on British music is sadly never likely to be acknowledged.
His influence on me was ginormous and he will be missed.
Our thoughts are with his family.

we also got our own box sets , mine was fucked ...ripped and stuff and the P was inside the box . we have be asured that its only a small amout that could be like that, i hope thats the case if not we should get all ten thousand back and chuck em through the manufactures fukin windows.

so we played , it was good fun but i dout if it looked like we were having any!. we were so far away from the crowd it was a bit weird to tell if people connected with us.
kraftwerk were amazing and prince was fukin mad , there a few things ive heard about me being pissed off that prince played its not true , it was just a shame we could only play for an hour thats all.
all the people from the festival were really brilliant .
gutted im missing black mountain today
and now were going home. with our sun burn.

were in cochella at last , we had our sound check and its sonding really good for now. the initial worries have past , not a angry production manadger in sight...just really nice chilled california people.
cochella is a lot better organised and cleaner than most european festivals but its a really nice vibe but its sooo fukin hot...and for a transparant old english man who burns its a bit much.. i think im going to look like a walking bell end by the end of today.
weve been in la for a week doing press , i really dont know what the interviews are going to be like? i think i come off sounding really mouthy ,slagging people off which worries me deeply.
i just find it hard to play the press game..without ranting about someone!!! but spose its not really working for a living so im not complaining.
the band are really enjoying themselves ,the european dates went better than we thought they would. all the PA problems have past thanks to eddie , rick and rob.
i saw dangermouse the other day and wanted to say hi but i didnt , he might have punched me , and with my mouth i wouldnt of blamed him.

in london now after madchester . last night was good the people were really nice and the sound was good but its hard sometimes playing your music when you can hear people chatting away...it would be a lot cheaper to go down the pub and have a chat rather than paying out 35 quid or so...oh well ...moan , moan ..bla..bla..bla modern life...etc.

last night was stress from start to finish......maily with the PA ,we have very unusal pa requirements so we shipped in extra vocal cabs and it still didnt sound right . on stage it was like riding a huge blamonge with pillows in your ears and someone shouting turn it up.....fuk.
seeing that the arena has gone down the pipe. it seems like the good people of bristol us included will have to suffer the lack of decent sized venues in the city for some time longer...

we went to london for a fews days to finish up. we worked in molko 9 back in ~Bristol now working on some art work and getting the live stuff together. i think one more day messing about with it and it will be done. then into the wonderful world of mastering.. [joke] also the amazing MADLIB is playing with us at ATP and im putting a footy team together for a little 6 a side comp for a laugh. cheers geoff

hello we have mixed all the tracks and the whole album is shit, so were going to start all over again. ok only kidding...sorry ! its sound pretty good but we have to go back to a few things in the next few weeks though. it sound pretty different from what we have done before i dont think the fondue society will be happy oh well , like the bee joke ends....... fuk em bye geoff

wed mixing and its cool,discussing the dismal mercury awards last night..why was ade edmondson on it? is it cos he's jool's mate...? hearing our tracks in the most final way that we ever really have is a bit scarey but it also signifies an end , a completion and a moving on to the next bit... all tomorrows parties which is shaping up really well and we have some cool stuff going on... our usual redherring discussions about biscuit types continues. adrian
