I think the guitar Adrian used was an old, beat-up pawn shop job. If you listen closely, you can hear fret buzz really bad. Sounds like the neck was warped to some degree or the guitar has really bad action. There is no way this was not intentional. Glad you picked up on it, I did too right away. I think it gives the song charm though, not a bad thing at all. Kudos to Adrian for playing that part with a crap guitar, but who knows, maybe it's his favorite one. |

Yeah... I think it sounds sloppy on purpose. I like it. _________________ "Don't touch my brain like that!" - Myopic Mecca |

| I love it, love it, love it. It retains some of the original style of [P] while at the same time venturing off into Silver Apples/Suicide territory. I will probably not only buy the CD, but also the vinyl if/when there is one. |

On first listen I had many different and somehow distorted emotions but when the album came to a finish I was completely into it.
It takes a few listening times to get into this album. It sounds great and is miles away from their previous efforts.
Also it is great to get into the music before I go and see them perform live. I will go and see [P] in Amsterdam and that would be my first [P] concert.
Some of the tracks do remind me of Beth's solo effort. Have seen that in concert too and till this day have many and fond memories. |

| It's definately a tricky animal of an album. In order to really appreciate what [P] have done on Third, it requires multiple listens. I think it is far better than Dummy, Dummy was great and all, but a little pop for me. I think its also better than their self titled. It just has this underlying desperation to it. The more I hear it, the more I love it. It's their masterpiece in my opinion. 10/10. |

On saturday a friend of mine visited me, he was one of the few that drew me into [P] now many years ago.
I already had heard the album a couple of times so my brain was more into all the unexpected musical explorations.
That friend reacted sometimes very suprised and shocked but then again he really liked it. It is great to hear music before the concert so then I can enjoy the live performance even more. |
