this from News Of The World yesterday....

***

Chuckle Brothers Blast New 'Portishead' LP
'Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear' say outspoken comedy duo

by our Trip-Hop and Sudoku correspondant -
Francis Howard

NOT content with continuously churning out
album after album, it seems like Bristol trip-hop
millionaires Portishead will do anything to cause
controversy amongst the countrys A-list celebs!!

Recently Portishead frontman Geoff Barrow and Chuckle
Brother Paul Elliot were both spotted at a charity City
vs. Rotheram football match, where although it is
believed they did not talk or actually see each other,
harsh words were exchanged about new Portishead album
'Three'.

"To be honest, this has all blown out of proportion" Chuckle
No. 2 Barry Elliot may or may not have stated to our reporter
this morning. "We're straight talking blokes from Up North",
Elliot continued agressively as our reporter suggested he had
kidnapped Pauls children and wife, "and if my brother thought
things should have been done differently, he wouldn't have
pulled any punches and told Barrow straight over half time
bovril and pies". Although neither of the brothers are known
to own any Portishead material, or even in fact to have ever
heard of the band, reliable internet forum evidence suggests
Paul was concerned that the track 'We Carry On' could have
been better with a deep guitar bass tune "a la" Neubauten's
'Alles Wieder Offen' instead of "t'synth that is used", and
would have been a better reflection of the title with added
Sid James samples overlaid on more innuendo freindly rythyms.

Another poster going by the name of 'wankyspunk' thought Paul
had been overheard in the Memorial Stand toilets saying that
although "song structure had improved" since 2007s 'Saturnine',
there were still "too many chorus repetitions" on Sour Times,
but that he couldnt be sure and he would have to consult the
giant poster of Beth Gibbons on his bedroom ceiling for further
spiritual guidance.

Geoff Barrow did not return our calls before publication and
was thought to be in the Jazz Cafe, watching obscure 1960s
films with the rest of the band as per their normal working
week. It is thought that if the pair can make up their
differences, the Chuckle Brothers will still accompany the
band on the US leg of their forthcoming world tour.

FH.

In my opinion, both this forum and new forum are ugly, and are lacking on functionality.

I much prefer the layout and use of the pheadweb forum here:
http://www.pheadweb.com/mb2/

now if only the community would migrate there, as it is pretty much dead at the moment.

Excellent NOTW article. Give it five days and the NME will be passing it off as "news". Maybe a week, depends how long til they finish wanking over the latest crop of shit, no-hope haircut band tossers.

And Slavering Sensation, it's all about the new forum now. That's sure to piss Mr "Slightly the wrong side of psychotic" Pheadweb off good and proper. He'll probably take it personally as usual, since he believes himself to have special status.
