The cd has leaked unfortunately to the net!! I could not stand it and downloaded it already!!
Sorry Portishead!!! I am still going to buy it of course!!!

Yes, downloading it doesn't mean people won't buy it anyway. I'll buy it for sure. Especially now that I know it's worth.

I always download an album. I always buy it though as well.

I'm on track 7. Sounds like Portishead has pulled a Radiohead. This is definatly Portishead's Kid A. It is very unconventional and unlike anything they have done before. I love it. I have a fealing there will be alot of people that hate the fact that it sounds so different... but I love it because it's different.

I'm so glad it leaked! I'm going to see them live early April so I didn't like the April 28 release date at all. Universal (I wish P would have signed a smaller 'independent' label) should do a Radiohead and release the album in a digital way next Monday. Silly old marketing strategies...

Anyways, the album is fckng BRILLIANT!!!

I got the download too, but suspicious cuz it does not sound polished enough. And I am just curious about how it was leaked, by a promo from the company? Friend of friend of friend of the P band? mmm..

Comments on the leak itself:
I don't think this is exactly how the album will sound. I dunno about other people, but a handful of my tracks cut out some 5 seconds before the end, and the production master is strange/non-existant/seems to change from track to track. Maybe this is a promo version as someone has suggested?

Comments on the album:
All very good tracks. It's a lot less accessible than their previous albums but I can tell it's the sort of thing that will grow on me. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything on here that would work in P's favour as a standalone wonder-track like Glorybox and All Mine did (maybe Nylon Smile or Magic Doors at a push? Easily my two favourite tracks.)

The person who ripped it added a 6 second pauze between every track - this is the reason why the album is a little longer than 49 minutes and 13 seconds.

^ Statistically, leaked albums are good for bands. The most money by far is made from gigs rather than album sales, and increasing popularity and recognition through leaked albums means more income from gigs. I think most of us are going to buy the album as well anyway though.

yeah, if you want to support the band - visit the live gig. majority of the £ from the cd sales goes to the record company.

agree, it doesnt sound FINAL. anybody else discussing about this?
